RP supports the SBA by processing disaster loans to aid those most heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
ASHBURN, VA, Nov. 15, 2021 —
RP Professional Services, LLC (RP) has provided support to the SBA Office of Capital Access (OCA) and the Office of Disaster Assistance (ODA) since May of 2020, specifically assisting businesses and individuals impacted by disasters such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The Office of Disaster Assistance’s mission is to provide low-interest disaster loans to businesses of all sizes, private non-profit organizations, homeowners, and renters to repair or replace real estate, personal property, machinery and equipment, inventory, and business assets that have been damaged or destroyed in a declared disaster.
In March 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic created unforeseen and unimaginable challenges for millions of citizens and businesses. Due to the dramatic effects, the CARES Act was passed by the U.S. Congress, in result providing significant relief and resources for small businesses including $349 billion in SBA loan guaranties and additional resources for SBA programs. The CARES Act also provided an expansion of the current SBA 7(a) loan program to support the new Paycheck Protection Program.
As a subcontractor to Highlight Technologies, RP supports the SBA’s response to the immediate and mission-critical COVID-19 surge response needs. RP provides full lifecycle loan processing support to SBA ODA to enable economic relief to reach small business owners, citizens, and non-profits throughout the United States. RP supports SBA OCA with dedicated loan servicing professionals to ensure loans are reviewed for forgiveness through the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).
