RP Pro Extends Partnership with GMU Student Internship Program
Ashburn, Virginia | April 22, 2024
RP Professional Services (RP) is thrilled to announce the continuation of our partnership with George Mason University (GMU) for the Spring Semester. This collaboration provides undergraduate interns from GMU’s cybersecurity programs the opportunity to offer technical support to our organization.
Students participating in GMU’s Commonwealth Cyber Initiative (CCI) program, which focuses on research, innovation, and workforce development, initiate the application process by submitting details about their work experience, background, and interests. Subsequently, RP, among other companies, engages in interviews to assess suitability for the role.
Last semester, we welcomed two interns, James Baker and Mohammad Chaudhry, in the capacity of IT Support Specialists. We’re delighted to share that James Baker has transitioned to a full-time role within RP this year, demonstrating the success of our internship program. James’s integration into our team has been seamless, and we extend our warmest welcome to him.
This semester, we are privileged to have Francisca Fagbola and Reva Hirave supporting RP. Francisca is pursuing a major in Information Technology with a concentration in Cybersecurity at GMU. Armed with Security+ certification, she aspires to pursue a career in Policy and Compliance.
Meanwhile, Reva is majoring in Applied Computer Science with a concentration in Software Engineering at GMU. Additionally, she is double minoring in Computational and Data Sciences, and Web Design. With a background in Software Development, Architecture, as well as RPA and IT, Reva brings a diverse skill set to the table.
As interns, their responsibilities encompass a range of tasks, including working with programs such as Power Automate, implementing automations in FreshService, and facilitating interdepartmental communications. They are also actively involved in supporting policies and procedures, particularly those related to Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC).
Michael Hartnett, RP’s IT Solution Architect, expressed his gratitude for the internship partnership with George Mason: “We are immensely grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with George Mason in this program. The caliber of individuals we’ve had the privilege to work with has been outstanding. It’s truly inspiring to witness the dedication and ambition of these young professionals.”
RP is eagerly anticipating the remarkable achievements these interns will contribute to, and we look forward to furthering our partnership with GMU in the future.
